dark beat is a new label from glasgow, set up to promote its own take on deep, dark atmospherical techno.
after the success of their digital releases this is our first dark beat remixes vinyl which has cuts from the very popular omen and untamed eps from label bosses deepbass & roman toletski.
on the a side we have oddity with a massive remix from mark broom. his remix of oddity is a no nonsense stripped back techno affair with a ripping synth line, the track teases you with a number off small drops before the massive atmospheric breakdown which would bring carnage on any dance floor.

marcus mumford built mumford and sons after his long standing position as laura marlings drummer / harmoniser began to earn him praise from all who saw them play live together. his battered and raspy voice soars with emotion over massive swells of country tinged orchestral pop. lovelorn lyrics filled with hope, anger, fear and every passionate extreme in between mean mumford and sons are sure to achieve a massive amount of praise for their debut album sigh no more, which demonstrates the strength in both song and sound. togetherness is fundamental to mumford and sons. its there in the tightness of the arrangements, and the four part harmonies - its pretty unusual to hear pitch perfect harmonies that are also meaty, masculine and downright loud. and its in the simple fact that mumford and sons get such a kick out of playing together.

the om 15 year anniversary compilation is chok full of tasty treats. one of our favorites is this >the latest< by sygaire & defcon featuring capitol a. sygaire (sonar kollektiv, raw fusion) is the the moniker of roskow kretschmann, who has quite the resume of contributions to modern dance music culture. starting with his role as member of jazzanova crew, to his later offerings as kosma, forum, and integra (compost, infracom!), roskow is obviously a man on a mission to spread incredible music throughout the world. here he is with partner defcon (raw fusion, melting pot), the alias of one philipp wohlleben. as innocent as that name might sound, do not be fooled. defcon stands for defense condition 5, and dj defcon brings the heat like a missile in the night. together these two have come with what clearly translates as a respectful bow to the old skool days, presented in true double 12 inch extended mix fashion, and complete with vocals from none other than capitol a.

to those of you who know your techno, shawn rudiman should be a well-known name. a prolific producer, he has nevertheless always kept his quality control on a tight leash, and releases on 7th city, technoir audio, integrated, dust science & matrix (amongst others) have brought him a reputation of being one of the finest producers around of contemporary detroit style (aka melodic) techno. a nice taster on the last minimalsoul release (sashimi hi) has hence led on to a full ep, and its classic stuff...tough beats and esoteric but catchy melodies all tied up with an expansive production ethic make for a great listen, and (perhaps unusually with this style of music) for a great dancefloor experience too!

this time the machine calls upon detroit hero gary martin (aka gi gi galaxy) to do the business. garys clean production style and attention to simple rhythms have defined who he is. this definition is reworked and slanted by the talents of andy garcia on the remix, so as usual, cryovacs components work together to exist, so that our music may evolve.

time for the next regular mojuba release after some fabulous contributions by chez damier and nick sole. the new 12 inch is from bernard badie, who graced the 10th anniversary release with his all-time house classic time reveals. this time he delivers some serious chicago house action with a re-edit of a rare and out of print track from larry heards alleviated records called move to the beat and the second tune is fresh and directly out of his studio, a jacking track which combines the old school flavour with the new school vibe! lets jack the house!
